Regex Accelerator Provides 40X Boost

Designed to do sophisticated pattern matching at wire-speed, the new RegEx Content Processor is said to provide up to a 40X boost over software-based systems. RegEx stands for regular expressions, which are a broadly used, industry-standard way of describing complex search patterns—the technology employs standard POSIX 1003.2 regular expression notation. The simultaneous pattern matching engine is also said to be flexible and accurate, providing exact matches for a large number of patterns on an arbitrary length dataset, with wildcards located in the beginning, middle, or end of the search string. Applications include content filtering, anti-spam protection, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and business and regulatory policy enforcement. Network security development kits are available now, consisting of two of the company’s content processors on PCI cards, simultaneous RegEx pattern matching agents, plus decode, decompress and signature pattern matching agents and API documentation.
