The CX92235, a system-on-chip (SoC) controller for advanced color and monochrome laser and inkjet multifunction printers with copy, fax, and scan capabilities, integrates a Digicolor image processor that enables color copying speeds up to 30 pages per minute. The device also packs features that promise to enhance image quality and includes support for color LCDs and connectivity options such as Ethernet and wireless networking. Notable, the programmable device allows users to develop multiple products with a single imaging SoC. The CX92235, based on an ARM 9 core with memory management and a vector floating point processor, teams with additional imaging hardware to enable fast raster image processing for page description languages. Other features include support for tandem color laser printers and an advanced image processor based on a dual-image-pipeline architecture that automatically segments text from photos and optimally processes the images. Available in a 329-pin BGA, samples are available now with volume production ramping in the second quarter of 2009. CONEXANT SYSTEMS INC. Newport Beach, CA. (888) 855-4562.
