Designed for use in developing media processing and voice-over-packet (VoP) conferencing applications, the VoPware software package supports the company's DSP media cards and offers a choice of two application program interfaces (APIs). A native API provides low-level access to media services and real-time transport protocol libraries. The distributed common object request broker architecture (CORBA) API allows applications to be developed across multiple hardware platforms on the same network or sub-networks. Other features of the new software include pluggable H.323, MGCP and SIP protocols, support for Linux and Solaris 8, an open source H.323 conference referencing application, and building blocks to support wiretapping for the communications assistance for law enforcement act (CALEA).
