Allowing users to stock one device for measuring multiple temperature points, the MCP9509 and MCP9510 resistor-programmable, logic-output temperature switches specify an operating voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and trigger for temperatures ranging from -40?C to 125°C. The MCP9509 has a static operating current of 30 µA and provides an open-drain output while the MCP9510 has a static operating current of 50 µA and comes in three different user-selectable output configurations: active-low push pull, active-high push pull, and active-low open-drain output with an internal 100 kiloOhm pull-up resistor. The switches target battery-powered applications in the industrial, automotive, medical, appliance, and consumer markets. The MCP9509 switches are available in a five-pin SOT-23 package and the MCP9510 comes in a six-pin SOT-23. Both devices cost $0.61 each/10,000. MICROCHIP TECHNOLOGY INC., Chandler, AZ.
