Particularly suitable for medical designs, the B6TS application-ready, touch-sensing ICs measure floating capacitance through most touch panel materials and are able to withstand disinfectant cleaning, are impervious to liquids, and can be easily operated by personnel wearing surgical gloves. The devices integrate detecting and processing functions into a programmable microcontroller. The workbench model B6TW is an intuitive tool enabling design-to-function verification, operable by any designer with a basic knowledge of parameter setting, operation monitoring, and capacitance calculation. Available in two versions, the 4-channel B6TS-04LT in an SSOP-20 operates at 3V to 5.5V and the 8-channel B6TS-08NF in a QFP-32 operates at 4.5V to 5.5V. Both devices specify an operating temperature range from –20°C to +85ºC. Prices for the B6TS-04LT and B6TS-08NF are $2.249 and $2.902 each, respectively. Schaumburg, IL. (800) 556-6766.
