Arriving on the scene as the first TriCore-based microcontroller (MCU) capable of running Linux or RTAI Linux, the 32-bit TC1130 targets programmable logic control (PLC) and motor drive systems, industrial communication devices, and consumer applications. The company's TriCore unified-processor architecture is responsible for the chip's ability to integrate a memory-management unit (MMU), floating point unit (FPU), and a wide range of peripherals. These include a 10/100 Ethernet controller, four CAN nodes, and a USB module. Other features include a clock rate up to 150 MHz, 200 MIPS performance, 144 KB of RAM, a 64-bit local-memory bus, and the company's Flexible Peripherals Interface bus for on-chip communications.
