Touted as the company’s first-ever products utilizing low-cost slotted-design technology for high power, the ELCOM ST Size 23 line of brushless DC servo motors is now available in a new standard 2" stack length to satisfy specific torque requirements. With a diameter of 2.3", the slotted motors are said to have fast acceleration, consistent performance, and long life for OEM applications ranging from imaging and medical diagnostic devices to computer peripherals, mass storage and office automation equipment. For optimal performance, the motors are constructed with high-energy bonded neodymium magnets. Continuous torque output up to 49 oz.-in. can be achieved with motor speeds up to 8,000 rpm and power output up to 188W. Brushless design is said to promote higher continuous torque, less audible noise and electromagnetic interference, and longer life compared with brush-commutated products. The motors’ mounting configuration is consistent with NEMA 23 standards.
