The RBK two-phase, bipolar stepping motor and drive package incorporates a number of special control functions such as smooth drive that initiates low-vibration operation with the flick of a switch. This function divides the basic 1.8° step angle up to 128 microsteps (0.018° step angle) in 16 selectable resolutions via switches on the driver. A third-harmonic suppression function reduces torque vibrations by correcting or shaping the driver current waveforms, particularly at lower shaft speeds. Yet another special function suppresses the vibration signal levels in the mid-speed range. Two step-motor frame sizes are available with three models in each size group. The smaller RBK264A, 266A and 268A measure 2.22" in diameter with holding torques ranging from 68 to 240 oz.-in.
