The Si84xx ISOpro digital isolator family supports as many as six unidirectional isolation channels capable of data rates up to 150 Mbits/s. With its space-efficient package options, isolation ratings of up to 2.5 kV rms, and highly integrated I2C

The Si84xx ISOpro digital isolator family supports as many as six unidirectional isolation channels capable of data rates up to 150 Mbits/s. With its space-efficient package options, isolation ratings of up to 2.5 kV rms, and highly integrated I2C isolators, the ISOpro family provides designers excellent flexibility. Typical applications include power supplies, motor control systems, hybrid electric vehicles, industrial networking, and medical and consumer products. Operating temperature range is ?40°C to 125°C. The devices’ jitter performance of 250 ps (peak) is more than two times lower than competitive offerings. Electro-static discharge performance is 4 kV, human body model; 2 kV, charged device model; and 400 V, machine model. Over 25 kV/µs of common-mode transient immunity and up to 50 V/m of electric-field immunity provide robust performance. Samples of the ISOpro Si84xx one- and two-channel devices are available in narrow-body SOIC-8 packages. The three-, four-, five-, and six-channel devices are available in narrow-body and wide-body SOIC-16 packages. Prices for the Si84xx devices start at $0.59 in high volume, and full production is scheduled for Q2 2009. SILICON LABORATORIES INC., Austin, TX. (408) 398-9700.
