Optimized for motor control systems, the 68HC908MR8 flash microcontroller features data retention of its flash memory to typically 100,000 write/erase cycles and a 50-year data retention while running at 55°C. As a result, systems that require non-volatile storage of temporary or changing data do not need separate EEPROMs. Integrated features include A/D converters, voltage regulation, and both synchronous and asynchronous SPI interfaces. In addition, the MCU features PWM waveform distortion correction, as well as multiple fault inputs and stop clock detection. Available in 28-pin PDIP, 32-pin QFP, and 28-pin SOIC packages, the MCU costs $3.60 each/1,000. For further information, contact MOTOROLA INC., Austin, TX. (512) 895-2000.
