Promising to ease the design of variable-speed motion control power stages, the IRAMX16UP60B, IRAMX20UP60A, and IRAMY20UP60B integrated power modules (IPMs) work with 85 to 253 Vac variable speed motors found in energy-efficient appliances. The IRAMY20UP60B is a 20A, 600V IPM that integrates a shunt resistor and a three phase HVIC gate driver. The HVIC provides over-current and over-temperature protection, as well as under-voltage lockout. Including a temperature monitor, the module's SIP3 package integrates heat spreaders for the power die. Otherwise similar, the IRAMX20UP60A does not include a shunt resistor and comes in a SIP2. Also in a SIP2, the IRAMX16UP60B is rated at 16A and operates with motors in the 750W to 1.2 kW power range. It also includes the shunt resistor and temperature monitor.
