A cost-effective print/apply labeling system is able to double as a benchtop printer. The TTX-450 Print/Apply system consists of the firm's direct thermal/thermal transfer printer and a bolt-on tamp applicator. The system can print labels ranging in size from 25 x 30 mm to 80 x 80 mm at print speeds of 250 mm per second at 300-dpi resolution. The tamp applicator is actuated by depressing a foot pedal or with an optional optical sensor. Front-panel applicator speed selection ranges from 4 to 8 ips. Unlike applicators that are powered by air, this applicator uses an internal fan for label vacuum and is driven by a low-maintenance stepper motor.
