A new linear motor slide has been designed to provide direct feedback of the table position, with positional repeatability of ±5 µm. The Phaser series also boasts a 1 µm high-resolution scale that reduces the speed ripple effect, achieving smooth operation at all speeds and suiting applications ranging from high-speed positioning to slow smooth testing equipment. Incorporating a coreless motor design, the Phaser has a maximum acceleration of 3G’s, maximum speeds to 2,500 mm/s, payloads up to 20 kg and stroke lengths up to 2,000 mm. With optional dual drive software, two independent tables can be mounted on one slide for space savings, or two slides can operate simultaneously for increased thrust capability. A stainless steel cover band comes standard for more freedom in installation, especially in dusty environments. The Phaser also has self-lubricating bearings on the linear guide and no wear parts in the drive section, such as a ball screw, rotary bearing or timing belt.
