Instead of copper-wire harnesses that are slow and susceptible to electrical noise, the TA821 Copper Reduction Modules convert electrical encoder, Hall sensor and limit signals to optical form and then back into electrical signals. Measuring 3.50” x 3.03” x 0.75”, the transmit/receive modules can be mounted with the motor and on a linear stage. Available in 1-, 2-, and 4-axis modules, they accept standard signals. Signal inputs include 5-Vdc differential encodes (A, B, Index), 5-Vdc differential Hall sensors, and 5- to 24-Vdc home and limit sensors. Power requirements for each module are 5V, and each contains a power-on status LED. Fiber optic cables are available to order. Price for a single-axis type is $470 each per transmit/receive pair.
