Motor-Run Caps Exploit Unique Packaging

March 28, 2011
Consuming up to 44% less volume than conventional capacitors, the MotorCap DM series motor run capacitors employ a novel housing technology that directly molds the capacitor windings into plastic.

Consuming up to 44% less volume than conventional capacitors, the MotorCap DM series motor run capacitors employ a novel housing technology that directly molds the capacitor windings into plastic. This allows for a significant reduction in capacitor dimensions to between 24 x 43 mm and 29 x 43 mm (diameter x length). Carrying a 250-Vac rating, the components offer capacitances of 10 to 15 µF and, at 450 Vac, 1.2 to 6 µF. Operating life is 10,000 hours over a temperature range from -25°C to +85°C. All types in the series are available in safety classes P0 and P2 and the capacitor windings are self-healing. Pricing is $00.6 to $1.20 each depending on value and quantity.
