Motors Tout Auto Self-Starting & Dynamic Braking Capabilities

June 1, 2000

Well suited for timing applications, the PTM Series of low-speed, permanent magnet synchronous step motors has a shaded pole permanent magnet design that allows automatic self-starting and dynamic braking without an external brake. With internal impedance protection, the shaft can be stalled continuously without the danger of burning the coils. Plastic and metal gearheads are available to meet the requirements of most applications.
Applications for the motors include: timers, time switches, time recorders, microwave ovens, electronic cooking ranges, air conditioners, and game machines.
