The MSA66 PWM amplifier integrates a differential amplifier on the input, allowing it to interface directly to the majority of motor-control chipsets. Described as a full bridge, four-quadrant PWM amplifier, the device is capable of driving dc brush motors in the 1/3 HP range and smaller. It can operate with ground referenced inputs that swing from -10V to +10V to match the output characteristics of motor control ICs, thereby eliminating the need for an additional power supply. Additionally, it can deliver an output up to 5A and 400W of continuous power to the load while operating from single supplies up to 80V. The PWM amp in a surface-mount open-frame package is priced at $47.90 each/100. APEX MICROTECHNOLOGY CORP., Tucson, AZ. (800) 546-2739.
