Via recently added support for 64-bit Windows XP, users of the Multiphysics 3.2a simulation software can increase the size of simulation models by orders of magnitudes. The application's companion product, Script, now provides object-oriented programming, allowing users to create custom data structures and operations. A suite of electromagnetic-specific features enables the simulation of arbitrary waveforms for applications such as motor startup or circuit response to pulses. The 3.2a release of Multiphysics runs under Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, which supports 128 GB of RAM and 16 TB of virtual-memory address space. A single-user license for Multiphysics 3.2a costs $6,995, and price for the electromagnetics module is $2,995. COMSOL INC., Burlington, MA (781) 273-3322.
