The HO series brushless servo motors combine an industry standard NEMA 23 mounting with a large through-hole, a high-resolution encoder, and slotless construction. The motor is designed to eliminate unwanted magnetic disturbances for smooth running operation at low speeds. It comes with an internally mounted high-resolution glass encoder grating. In addition, an encoder read head is mounted to the rear of the motor and can easily be replaced or upgraded in the field. Standard resolutions greater than 29,000,000 counts/revolution can be achieved with repeatability at 0.3 microradians. After motor assembly, the company aligns gratings to better than 24 microradians of absolute accuracy using a precision autocollimator. The motor comes with a 16 mm through bore in the shaft so users can run wires, fiber optic cables, laser beams, vacuum and other media through the motor. Thin cross section precision ABEC-7 bearings are standard. Torque curves have less than 1% harmonic distortion for smooth operation with sinusoidal current control amplifiers. Sample pricing is $15.75 each. APPLIMOTION INC., Loomis, CA. (916) 652-3118.
