Software Module Eases Motion Control Integration

June 1, 2002

For text-based programmers who need to integrate motion into their test and measurement applications created with Measurement Studio, the Motion Control Module for Measurement Studio employs a unique method for controlling motors, drives and encoders. Configuration is via interactive property pages that are intuitive task windows, providing a point-and-click environment. Through these pages, users can specify move criteria, such as axes, distance, or velocity. The software module then automatically creates the motion commands and, once the user starts an application, executes each move while managing buffers for contour moves, breakpoints and high-speed captures. Pricing for the module starts at $995. For more details, call Ernest Martinez at NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS, Austin, TX. (800) 258-7022.
