By modifying the winding configuration to reduce its inductance, the CLS family of tubular linear motors is said to offer enhanced performance. The windings enable these motors to achieve a position resolution up to 1 µm in high-stiction and low-inertia applications. Velocity ripple is ±1%. Other features include a single moving part design, integral bearing system, fully programmable, and no backlash. Standard stroke lengths range from 2" to 18" and force varies from 50 to 1,200 lb. peak. For prices, call CALIFORNIA LINEAR DEVICES INC., Carlsbad, CA. (760) 603-8026.
