12-bit PCIe Digitizer Delivers Multi-GHz Real-Time Processing

June 27, 2013
Compact, dual-channel PCIe digitizer features 12-bit resolution, sampling up to 3.2 GS/s and on-board real-time processing.

Agilent’s new compact, dual-channel PCIe digitizer, the U5303A, features 12-bit resolution, sampling up to 3.2 GS/s and on-board real-time processing. It also boasts unprecedented analog fidelity, high effective number of bits, and very low noise. Offering dc-to-1.8 GHz bandwidth, 9.1 ENOB at 100 MHz, 58 dB signal-to-noise ratio and high data-transfer rates from an eight-lane PCIe 2.0 interface, the digitizer is suited for systems in commercial, industrial, aerospace and defense applications. Uses include medical imaging, environmental monitoring, analytical time-of-flight, ultrasonic nondestructive testing and radar. Utilizing Agilent’s U5340A FPGA development kit for high-speed digitizers enables integrated real-time signal processing within the embedded Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGA. The software kit provides interfaces that leverage the full density and speed of the FPGA, while ensuring the digitizer’s outstanding level of performance at multi-GS/s. A comprehensive set of drivers facilitates integration of the module into a PC. The U5303A high-speed PCIe digitizer with on-board processing can be ordered now.
