AdvancedMC Cards Improve Processing Performance

July 15, 2014
Concurrent Technologies’ latest AdvancedMC module features either a dual-core or quad-core fourth-generation Intel Core processor combined with IDT’s Tsi721 PCI Express to RapidIO bridge to deliver a low-latency and scalable compute element.

Concurrent Technologies’ latest AdvancedMC module features either a dual-core or quad-core fourth-generation Intel Core processor combined with IDT’s Tsi721 PCI Express to RapidIO bridge to deliver a low-latency and scalable compute element.

Compared to some of the company’s previously released modules, the AM C1x/msd improves CPU processing performance and incorporates two 10Gbit Ethernet interfaces on the front panel for additional high-speed network links.

It supports Fabric Interconnect Networking Software (FIN-S), allowing developers to create applications that transparently span clusters of AM C1x AdvancedMC modules utilising the internal RapidIO interconnect for low latency complemented with Ethernet links for ubiquitous connectivity.

Typical applications for this type of solution include wireless test and infrastructure, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), image recognition, and database query from the telecoms, defence, and other markets that need high-performance embedded computing (HPEC) equipment.
