Available free of charge, the ZiLOG Developer Studio is an all-in-one development environment for designers using the firm’s controllers and microprocessors. Based on a Windows 95/98/NT interface, the environment includes an assembler, debugger, C compiler, linker, color-coded editor project manager, one-time-programmable utility, and a complete database of the firm’s chips and emulators. The development suite also includes the newly developed ZiLOG Debugger Interface (ZDI), which offers a user-friendly link with which to download code directly to target microprocessors while debugging the application. Users can save substantial time by simply plugging the ZDI cable into a six-pin header on the target system. The development software will automatically recognize the processor. The environment is designed for software development of the Z8, Z89C00, Z180 and Z380 microcontrollers and microprocessors.
