Targeting telecommunications and networking markets, the SuperTask real-time operating system and the TronTask, ITRON-compliant kernel now support Motorola's MPC8260 processor. The real-time operating system is both ROM-able and reentrant and provides over 70 system calls. It is said to include a wide selection of services to enhance and simplify implementation of embedded multitasking applications. TronTask provides the standardized, universal application-programming interface (API) to facilitate product development and is ITRON 3.02 compliant. A royalty-free license costs $8,000 and includes full source code.
