The environmentally-sealed e2c centralized I/O system is claimed to be the first in the industry to offer from four to 64 I/O modular combinations in an IP67 enclosure for DeviceNet, Profibus-DP, and Interbus. Designed to operate without enclosures, the system consists of a bus head and plug box that house the protocol and interface for the three networks with one common configuration software tool. Plug-in intelligent modules include auto configuring, sensor inputs, up to 2-A actuator outputs, and multiple connector interface options.
Sensor inputs can be two- or three-wire, IEC 1131-2 type 1, type 1+, or type 2 sensors. Operating temperature range is from 0°C to 90°C. Typical applications for the system are automotive factory floor, material handling and sorting, transfer lines, conveyor equipment, and a host of other applications.
