Leveraging Intel’s fourth-generation Core i7-4700EQ quad-core processor, the Matrix MXE-5400 fanless embedded computer delivers top-of-the-line performance, says developer ADLINK Technology. It implements the company’s Smart Embedded Management Agent (SEMA) remote management tool. As a result, it’s hardware-ready for Intel vPro technologies, which allows for remote management and control of systems (e.g., outdoor intelligent transportation, digital surveillance, and industrial automation) via encrypted out-of-band (OOB) TCP/IP communication by Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) 9.0. When the MXE-5300 is accompanied with the company’s MSDK+, based on Intel’s Media SDK and Quick Sync technology, it boosts media-streaming capability and reduces CPU loading. Support is included for three independent displays from DVI-I and dual DisplayPort, four serial ports with surge protection, four Gigabit Ethernet ports, eight isolated digital input/output, and six USB 3.0 ports (plus one internal USB 2.0 for dongles). An internal dual SATA-III interface accommodates RAID support, and dual mini PCIe interfaces support wireless communication options such as BT/Wi-Fi and 3G. It’s ruggedized design handles temperatures ranging from −20 to 60°C, and an operating shock tolerance up to 50 g.
