Eliminating the complexity of adding wireless networking to a device, the WiPort embedded device server is said to be the first in the industry to offer both IEEE 802.11b wireless and wired Ethernet connectivity. The module includes a processor, memory, 802.11b transceiver, dual high-speed serial ports, operating system, TCP/IP protocol stack, and WEP/WPA security. It delivers serial data speeds up to 920 Kb/s and provides up to 11 simultaneous configurable I/Os. Additionally, software for the company’s XPort is fully compatible with the WiPort platform, allowing for quick and easy migrations from wired to wireless designs.
