DQPSK Modulator Driver Addresses 40/100 Gb/s Lightwave Systems

With an eye on next-generation networks, the Model FO-MDA-20-25DD-1 dual-channel DQPSK modulator driver outfits 40- and 100-Gb/s optical transponder applications with data rates as high as 113 Gb/s. It interfaces with a Sierra Monolithics SMI 4025 DQPSK multiplexer/clock multiplier unit on the input and an Avanex Mach-Zehnder lithium-niobate MZ DQPSK modulator at its output. The module integrates a separate channel for I and Q signals within its 36 mm x 28 mm x 8 mm package and uses GPPO connectors.
