With its rugged aluminum enclosure and fanless design, Elma Electronic’s J Series EPIC computing platform suits harsh environments ranging from industrial control and automation to mining, agricultural, and transportation. The platform integrates Intel’s Core i7-620 LE low-power, 2-GHz CPU processor (up to 8 Gbytes of DDR2) along with Intel’s QM57 Express chipset. Ports include two DisplayPorts, LVDS (dual channel); two Gigabit Ethernet; 10 USB 2.0 host ports (two with extended power capability); and four SATA with RAID support. Fanless conduction cooling features a CPU heat-spreader plate to maximize thermal conductivity. The EPIC supports Linux and Windows XP operating systems.
