The microprocessors are said to be a suitable hardware platform for this operating system, targeting applications in handheld, wireless, consumer, networking, and telematic systems. Available via subscription, the Hard Hat Linux 2.0 Professional Edition is said to include a comprehensive tool set of compilers, debuggers, configuration utilities, as well as the Hard Hat Linux kernel for the SuperH CPUs.
