Compatible with three major industrial bus systems- DeviceNet, LonWorks and Interbus- the OpenNet Controller PLC is an interchangeable PLC that gives users the control to design low-cost systems that are more powerful and provide flexibility as network technologies change. Building onto a CPU module or into an existing network, users can select the number and type of I/O to fit their system requirements. An ONC processor can handle up to 480 digital I/O locally and up to 512 remote I/O using an Interbus remote I/O master card. Modules come in densities of 8, 16 and 32 points, and relay outputs with a current carrying capacity of 2A per point are available. The device also has three standard, built-in communication ports. A downloadable PID function with auto-tuning is available on the ONC CPU, which sports a powerful instruction set that handles math functions, data conversion and routing, as well as data transmit/receive.
