The AD-130GE from JAI is a 2-CCD multi-spectral camera that achieves greater resolution and light sensitivity than earlier models by the company. Like the existing AD-080 series, this new model uses a dichroic prism to provide simultaneous capture of both color and near-infrared digital video on a single optical path for multi-spectral analysis. However, the AD-130GE provides 1.3 megapixel resolution compared to the 0.8-megapixel resolution of previous models. Using two precisely-aligned 1/3” Sony ICX447 CCDs, the AD-130GE maintains a comparable capture rate (31 fps), while taking advantage of increased sensitivity to visible and near-infrared light. This single-camera approach enables multi-spectral analysis to be applied to inspection tasks, such as fruits and vegetables, plastic film containers, and medical supplies. Output is provided via two GigE interfaces on back of the camera. Color output is available in raw Bayer form (8, 10, or 12-bit), or as 24-bit/30-bit RGB. Near-infrared output is user selectable 8, 10, or 12-bit monochrome images.
