Continued interest in open-source development tools proves they are no flavor of the month. NetSilicon's NET+OS version 5.0 offers a choice of GNU tools or an upgraded Green Hills Software Multi 2000 Integrated Development Environment, version 3.5. Both support the bundled Express Logic's ThreadX operating system. Also, NET+OS targets NetSilicon's ARM-based system-on-a-chip (SoC), which incorporates an Ethernet media access controller (MAC). NET+OS includes drivers and a network stack for this platform. The application development environment costs $2000.
