Unveiled as the industry’s first sensor signal path design tool that enables engineers to quickly move from concept to simulation and prototyping of common sensor signal paths, the WEBENCH online sensor designer tool promises to configure a complete sensor signal path with just a few keystrokes. Users select the appropriate sensor type and click the create-a-design button. If their particular sensor is not in the tool, they have the ability to create a custom sensor and save it to their work space. The tool then generates a design schematic, bill of materials, and a performance summary including detailed error analysis in a matter of seconds. Additionally, a build-it option allows users to generate configurations for evaluation and prototyping. NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., Santa Clara, CA. (800) 272-9959.
