Groomed for LAN/WAN networking, telecommunications, network management, and data/process control applications, the PMC101 mezzanine card allows users to extend and tailor the performance of CompactPCI and AdvancedTCA packet processing and I/O systems to meet the needs of network-centric processing and management. The card supports an 800 MHz 440GX PowerPC processor and employs the company’s NexusWare core, a Linux-based operating and development environment. This allows it to act either as an independent processing element or as a loosely coupled co-processor. Applications include accelerated-packet or application processing for IP-based networks, upper level SS7 stack and application processing, or adapting network protocol processors.
