PMC/XMC Receiver Sets Benchmarks For ADC Capabilities

Oct. 8, 2008
Set for deployment in harsh environments, the ICS-8551 ADC PMC/XMC digital-receiver module offers both two- and four-channel operation with sampling frequencies of 1.5 GHz (four channel) or 3 GHz (two channel) for software-defined-radio applications.

Set for deployment in harsh environments, the ICS-8551 ADC PMC/XMC digital-receiver module offers both two- and four-channel operation with sampling frequencies of 1.5 GHz (four channel) or 3 GHz (two channel) for software-defined-radio applications. A combination of high performance ADC and Virtex-4 FPGA resources allows the digitizing and processing of VHF and UHF signals directly on the module. Other features include a 10-MHz reference TCXO, PCI interface delivering sustained data rates in excess of 400 MB/s, and a Pn4 user I/O port for defining direct point-to-point connections to the FPGA, eliminating interrupt latencies. Software development kits for the ICS-8551 are available for VxWorks, Linux, and Windows operating systems. Each kit includes a kernel level driver, full API, application example code written in C, and a flash-memory loader utility. GE FANUC INTELLIGENT PLATFORMS, Charlottesville, VA. (434) 978-5000.
