Said to accelerate the evaluation and design-in of high-density voice-processing subsystems, aXs.110 is the first in a series of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and voice over asynchronous transfer mode (VoATM) evaluation and reference platforms. The self-contained unit allows users to directly evaluate the aXs architecture based on Broadcom's BCM1500 CALISTO processor and to rapidly incorporate aXs voice-processing products into their broadband voice gateways that bridge the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and packet networks.
The platform demonstrates the highest-density voice processing technology available for use in voice gateway equipment. It supports up to OC-3 capacities (2,016 voice channels) with fully integrated support for voice-processing algorithms, packet processing and call control. The platform enables vendors to evaluate the density, performance, functionality, and interoperability of the architecture in their existing configurations.
