The Models IC11A-F and IC11-PLUS RS-232 to RS-422/485 converters reportedly provide all required features for reliable interfacing in miniature packages and at low cost. They are available for half- and full-duplex applications and support transmission distances up to 1,220m. One end attaches to an RS-232 device and the other end connects via screw terminals to an RS-422/485 device. The converters handle data-transfer rates up to 120 Kb/s and operating power is acquired directly from the computer's serial port or via an included USB cable. Price for a basic unit starts at $89.
