Targeting serial-intensive applications, the SIO-104+8.485 eight-port PC/104 RS-485 module conforms to PC/104 specifications and includes UARTs with 128-byte FIFOs for communication speeds up to 921.6 kb/s. The module automatically handles the RS-485 driver enable, allowing the RS-485 ports to be viewed by the operating system as standard COM ports. Interfacing is via dual 40-pin header connectors, and breakout cables and other accessories are available. The SIO-104+8.485 (part number 3588) comes with the SeaCOM suite of Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP drivers and WinSSD, a test and diagnostic application.
