Curtiss-Wright Corp.’s Defense Solution division, a Cisco Systems Solution Technology Integration (STI) partner, enhanced its Parvus DuraMAR 5915 SWaP-C-optimized mobile IP router subsystem by incorporating a Cisco ESS 2020 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switch. By combining a Cisco 5915 Embedded Services Router and the ESS 2020 switch in a single line replaceable unit (LRU), DuraMAR 5915 (2X series) reduces power consumption while increasing the port count (23 ports—two routed and 21 switched). The rugged, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) unit meets MIL-ST-810G, MIL-STD-461F, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704F, and RTCA/DO-160G standards. Its Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS)-based managed switching and routing architecture also helps shrink user training requirements. System integrators can deploy Cisco Mobile Ready Net capabilities, including data, video, and voice services, virtually anywhere that requires LAN or WAN connectivity, particularly in mobile, airborne, ground, manned/unmanned vehicle, and sensor applications.
