Promising to deliver low-cost analog and digital I/O to PC users, the Personal Measurement Device modules are compatible with USB 1.1/2.0 and support Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP operating systems. Model PMD-1208LS provides eight single-ended or four differential analog inputs with 12-bit resolution. Other features include sample rates up to 1.2 ksamples/s, eight software-selectable input ranges, two 10-bit analog outputs, 32-bit counter, and 16 bits of digital I/O. In contrast, Model PMD-1024LS deploys a 24-bit digital I/O interface on a USB port. Via the 82C55 standard, the 24 bits are divided into two eight-bit ports and two four-bit ports, each programmable as an input or output. Both modules measure 3.25" x 3.25" and offer magnetic and Velcro mounting options. The PMD-1028LS and PMD-1024LS cost $109 and $99 each, respectively. MEASUREMENT COMPUTING CORP., Middleboro, MA.
