Offered as the industry's first MPEG-2 encoder USB reference design kit, the iVAC USB-7114 MPEG kit is designed to enable designers to accelerate the process of developing digital-video peripherals. The kit is built around the company's iTVC12 MPEG-2 encoder chip that includes both audio and video encoding and MPEG-2 program- or transport- layer processing. As a production-oriented reference design, the kit also integrates the USB interface, enabling designers to focus on value-added features. All design kits include binary and source code for WDM software drivers, Win98 DirectShow, time-shifting applications, schematics, gerber files, OrCAD, files, bill of materials, and application support. Pricing is $10,000.
