XMC Provides Secure Wireless Connectivity

The XMC-660 multi-function mezzanine card combines wireless, GPS, and cryptography to deliver portable, secure in-the-field wireless connectivity. The card is reportedly an ideal solution for quickly and easily adding high-performance trusted wireless communications to VME, VPX, and CompactPCI embedded systems. Based on the VITA 42 XMC standard, it combines support for Wi-Fi 802.11 n/a/b/g, ZigBee 802.15 asset tracking, and GPS services. Power dissipation is 7W typical and 8.4W maximum while operating from a 5V power supply. Other features include back-end AES/3DES cryptographic support for secure wire line communications over PCI/PCIe to a base card. Software support includes drivers for the Windows XP, Linux GPPLE, and VxWorks 6.7. Pricing for the XMC-660 starts at $4,600 each. CURTISS-WRIGHT CONTROLS EMBEDDED COMPUTING, Leesburg, VA.
