A sound damping and vibration reducing material can quiet and reduce vibrations in electronic racks, chassis, enclosures and other products. Comprised of two or more metallic substrates surrounded by a viscoelastic core, NRG DAMP material functions by micro-shear deformation of the viscoeleastic core, dissipating vibrational energy. The material can be formed by stamping, bending or roll-forming without loss of performance and no delamination. It can also be welded and accepts various fastening methods. The material is available in coil, sheet or finished parts to customer specs. MSC ENGINEERED MATERIALS AND SOLUTIONS GROUP, Elk Grove Village, IL. (800) 877-9078.
