ErP-Compliant Supplies Offer A “Green” Power Alternative

July 19, 2012
The GRN series of energy-efficient power supplies developed by Power Sources Unlimited handle power levels from 45 to 110 W
A new series of energy-efficient power supplies developed by Power Sources Unlimited handle power levels from 45 to 110 W. The GRN series supplies, which comply with the Energy Related Products (ErP) Directive, come in single- and multiple-output versions. Overall, there are 17 standard models for each power level. Average efficiency for the single-output varieties (12 to 48 V) is 87%; multiples (3.3- and 5-V outputs are also available) come in at 85% while featuring less than 300-mW standby power. Designed for convection and cooled applications, the GRN series operates from 0 to 70°C, with suitable derating above 50°C. All models operate from an 85- to 264-V ac input, and feature overvoltage and overpower protection. Specific application areas include medical, information technology, and industrial.
