This new line of aluminum indium gallium phosphide (AlInGaP ) light-emitting diodes are claimed to be both energy efficient and cost competitive with existing LEDs. The first two entrants of the new line are the red (626 nm) and red-orange (620 nm) LEDs and are offered in both round and oval packages.
The oval package comes in two sizes: 3.8 x 5.2 mm and 4.6 x 5.2 mm. The round package also comes in two sizes: 3 and 5 mm in diameter. The LEDs also come in various styles that include flanged, with and without standoffs, and no flange, with and without standoffs. They also come with clear, tinted and diffused encapsulant finishes and with various viewing angles. According to the company, the new LEDs are the first in a continuously expanding line of high-brightness LEDs it plans to introduce.
