The ADE7752 three-phase electrical energy metering IC with watt-hour output is compatible with a wide range of three-phase grid configurations. Meter design is said to be simplified with a built-in analog front end optimized for direct interface with a current transformer. The device promises less than 0.1% linearity error over a dynamic range of 500 to 1 while operating from a single 5V supply. A negative power pin provides an alert if one or more of the phases has negative active power flow. Other features include no-load threshold and power supervisory functions, a start-up current of 0.04% of basic current, and an accelerated life expectancy of 60 years. Available in a 24-lead SOIC package, price is $4.62 each/1,000. ANALOG DEVICES INC., Norwood, MA. (800) 426-2564.
