Targeting air conditioning applications, the iMOTION integrated power design platform enables efficiencies up to 95%, energy-savings, and variable-speed sinusoidal current control without the need for position sensors. The system architecture combines the company’s proprietary high-voltage integrated circuit technology with analog, digital, and power building blocks, and digital control algorithms. Its digital block consists of the IRMCF3xx family of digital control ICs while the analog block includes the IRS2136D family of 3-phase analog driver and protection devices. The last link in the chain, the power stage consists of various configurations of the company's trench IGBTs, offered as discrete components and in modules. Pricing for the iMOTION air conditioner platform varies by power level, configuration, and chip set selection. A chip set comprising the IRMCF3xx controller and three power stages for a system with a 2-kW input is priced at $19.95 each/100,000.
