Rectifier Promotes Higher System Efficiency
Groomed for ac/dc converters, the IR11672A SmartRectifier IC with advanced minimum on time (MOT) protection circuitry forecasts more energy efficient ac/dc converters. Employing proprietary 200V IC technology, the device performs as a smart secondary-side synchronous rectification controller for driving N-channel power MOSFETs. It determines turn-on and turn-off based on MOSFET drain sensing voltage in close proximity to zero current transition, thereby eliminating the need for additional components including a heatsink. Other features include a 500-kHz switching frequency, an enable pin, anti-bounce logic, UVLO protection, and a 7A peak turn-off gate drive current. Pricing for the IR11672A begins at $0.92 each/10,000-units. For more information, contact Sian Cummins at INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER, El Segundo, CA. (310) 252-7148.
